Starting in the September, 2007 school year, Graduation Transitions 12 replaced the Graduation Portfolio Assessment found in the original 2004 graduation program.  All BC secondary school students who are enrolled in Grade 10, 11 or 12 as of September 1, 2007, and beyond must demonstrate they have met the following requirements for:

  • Personal Health - maintain a personal health plan and participate in at least 80 hours of moderate to vigorous physical activity, in addition to PE10.
  • Community Connections - participate in at least 30 hours of work experience and/or community service and describe what was learned.
  • Career and Life - complete a transition plan and present significant accomplishments.

Graduation Transitions is worth 4 credits toward graduation. All grade 12 students must successfully complete the requirements of this course in order to graduate. Students will be given a package of activities and log sheets to complete in the fall in order to meet the learning outcomes and requirements for this course.

Please note that students will be required to work on this package outside of their regular school hours, but they will be supported by a Graduation Transitions Advisor (Ms. Schlatter). It is important that students meet with their Advisor regularly throughout the school year to ensure that they are completing necessary criteria.

Note that Graduation Transitions must be complete before students will be able to participate in graduation activities.
